Haha there’s a sign on my wall that says “emotional range of a teaspoon —>” (I was going to make it into a t-shirt…can’t remember if I actually did. Also I made sure the arrow was pointing to something stupid, so it points to my tickets to see Twilight xD) and yesterday my dad looks at it and out of nowhere says “is that a band? Emotional Range of a Teaspoon?” I laughed. xD

The text is: “It bothers me that they spoke such terrible Latin. Latin is supposed to be pure vowels and with every spell, they butchered it. Wouldn’t that just mess up the spell?”

The spells aren’t supposed to be all Latin. I believe JKR played around with them and they came from a variety of different influences. Seeing as I don’t speak the language, I can’t say if they were “butchered” or not, but if I remember correctly, the spells aren’t supposed to just be Latin words, so they couldn’t really “butcher” them if she changed them intentionally. There were parts of the series that were purely Latin though, like some of the score (“In Noctem”). I have no idea if those were spoken correctly though :P
